Manzanita Leaf Gall Aphids choose new leaves to create galls, which are where aphid eggs will develop. They usually will choose a site near the stem end of the leaf, along the leaf margin (edge). Other aphids may also choose to locate galls on the same leaf, and sometimes they even share a gall.
